My creditors have been insulting and threatening me. Can they do that?
No. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act protects people in debt from over-zealous creditors and collection agencies. Creditors are not allowed to use bullying tactics such as sharing your private information to embarrass you; using vulgar or insulting language; or continuously calling you at work or home.
If your creditors are harassing you, you have the legal right to send them a “do not call” letter. To learn more, contact Boston creditor harassment lawyers Joshua Spirn & Associates at 800-975-5346.
