Boston Bankruptcy Lawyer FAQs

If I file for bankruptcy, will the bank be able to go through foreclosure?

Depending on the type of bankruptcy - yes and no. If a person files for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, it will stop a foreclosure motion. In addition, the mortgage, with time, will be brought back into line with the bank. Chapter 7 does not prevent foreclosure.
